Subiaco Sunday Trading On The Up!
A recent survey by the Subiaco Business Association has seen an increase in the number of Subiaco businesses open on Sundays from 82 in February to 110 in April.
SBA President, Geoff Parnell, said that he was pleased that more businesses are choosing to open and embrace the new Tourism Precinct Trading hours that have been granted in 2010.
The SBA has been monitoring the number of Subiaco businesses open on Sundays since they conducted a survey and forum for retailers in early February. “Shop owner sentiments seem to have shifted quite considerably in the past few months,” Mr Parnell said. “Our survey clearly showed that retailers were not keen to open past 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays, but the majority were seriously considering opening on Sundays. Since February, there has obviously been a collective swing towards Sunday trading and we’re looking forward to retailers continuing to update us with their feedback,” he added.
These results have encouraged Pro Subi, the marketing body for the CBD of Subiaco, to undertake an advertising campaign throughout April and May inviting shoppers to visit Subiaco stores on Sundays.
