Business Association to Tackle Subiaco Revival

The Subiaco Business Association (SBA) is facilitating a meeting for all Subiaco Business’s to have an open discussion on the current issues facing business in Subiaco and identify ways to increase vitality in Subiaco, attract consumers and improve sustainability.

Geoff Parnell, President of the SBA, said “there are numerous challenges facing business, retail and commercial, throughout the metropolitan area and Subiaco was not alone. There were however, a number of strengths that Subiaco could build on and a number of Subiaco specific barriers to improving vibrancy and sustainability. The ABC 7.30pm report on 17th February highlighted how far Subiaco had fallen behind due to key infrastructure and place making initiatives not progressing”.

‘We have been having discussions with our members in regards to a number of issues including parking, the main street initiative and marketing. Whilst the City and the business community need to have a long term vision, there is a critical immediate need to identify and develop short and medium term initiatives and actions that can assist with business sustainability and the workshop will give all business’s in Subiaco an opportunity to contribute to the action plan”,
Mr Parnell said.

The workshop will be independently facilitated by James Best, Director Futures and Ideation at Hames Sharley and City of Subiaco CEO Stephen Tindale will be outlining current City initiatives.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday 28th March from 5.30pm to 7.00pm at the Leadership Training Centre, 325 Barker Road Subiaco.
